Your council will send you a poll card just before an election telling you where and when to vote.
If you haven’t received a poll card but think you should, contact your local Electoral Registration Office.
You can still vote if you’ve lost your card.
Polling stations are open from 7am to 10pm on the day of the election (‘polling day’), and are usually located in public buildings like schools or local halls.
Give your name and address to the staff inside the polling station when you arrive. You don’t have to take your poll card with you.
You’ll be given a ballot paper containing a list of the people, parties or the options you can vote for.
Come along to these community events for all to meet and ask the candidates questions on their policies and how they will represent you!
